How does culture affect values?
Culture affects values in many ways both in life and throughout the book "To Kill a Mockingbird". Different societies and communities in the world have different cultures. These cultures all have different values. Even a families' culture can have different value than another families' culture. This question can relate to historical connection because cultures throughout history have had their values change and/or stay the same. People's values are different even though they are in the same community. A great example of this is in the story "To Kill a Mockingbird". The Finch family has different values and beliefs than most white families in Maycomb. An example in history where this was apparent, was when white families stood up against Black segregation towards other White people. In the other case, kids who grow up in a racist family will be taught different values compared to other families. Everything depends on the culture of the community someone is in. Racism is a parallel between the book and history.
